Problem putting in 4H

So ever since I got the Wrangler I've been driving in in 2H, I mean why would I need 4 wheel drive for regular daily driving, right? Yesterday we went on a weekend getaway which passes through a very light off-roading trail which had some mud and I though perfect time to test out 4H, but I couldn't. I followed the right steps to put in 4H but the lever wasn't going anywhere. I didn't try to be too agrresive not to break something so I had to pray we pass, which we did, but now I'm wondering if there's a problem with my Wrangler? The previous owner said everything works, so I hope he's not lying

Sometimes 4H won't engage if the vehicle isn't stopped or if there's a transfer case issue, you can try shifting with the wheels straight and engine running

Why not try shifting into 4H while rolling slowly next time, did you maybe try it while stopped or in park, which can make it harder to engage on some Wranglers?
